8 day Painting Retreat suitable for all levels of experience, from beginners to professional artists. You will be able to extend your knowledge on understanding of art in a creative and relaxed atmosphere. I will be demonstrating Oil, acrylic and mixed media. Exploring Perspective, composition, texture, form and color.

Each day will consist of 4 to 5 hours of plein air painting instruction, critiques and demos. We will work on Oil, Acrylic, watercolor, pencil, etc.

8 days of artistic immersion.
All inclusive breakfast, juices and fruits.
We will experience some of the local cuisine for lunches and dinners (cost not included).
5 Hours of daily studio work. Sun, Beautiful Beaches and Cultural Experiences.
Emphasis on creating your own body of work, including documentation, photography and Artist Statement. There will be plenty o
time for relaxation.
Transfer to and from airport.
Palettes, turpentine, aprons. Acrylic paints, Paper, Gesso, pencils, charcoal.

We provide accommodation for an additional fee. From $700 to $1500.

We will include most of the materials ....We don’t provide Oil paint or Canvas. You can bring your own or we can provide a set of materials for a fee.

Lola del Fresno be assisting you in developing your skills and your vision as an artist

She has a way of instilling confidence and encouraging students to take risks. There will be demos and reviews to explore the basics and her insights into what makes a successful painting. Lola will be working with each painter individually to enhance their painting practice.

The private residence is located in Menorca in the small Village of S’Algar. Only 100 feet away from the sea. You will be sure to bring home amazing memories

To be an artist you have to open yourself to the experience. To allow life in. Whether you are an abstract or realist painter, it all comes from the outside. You have to be open and let the good things come in. You have to be open to everything, which is a very difficult thing to do, but it is what you must do to be an artist, accepting what is going on in the world at this moment but also finding your voice. It takes a while to understand that. How to get to a deeper version of yourself. How do you tap into that? Be brutally honest with yourself.

We will have critiques to help open ourselves up to possibilities and a deeper version of yourself. You will be able to listen to your intuition, understanding what type of information you want to take in. What is appropriate for your work on a daily basis?

The key is consistency and devoting time to your work. Is important to understand what are we giving our time to. The balance between discipline and being loose. Be very honest about the things that you want to achieve. Being outside of the social order helps to develop a language. Making real freedom possible, shifting communication to the intimate experience.

Hauser and Wirth is a prominent international art gallery that opened a location in Menorca in July 2021, in the historic town of Mahon. The gallery occupies a former 18th-century naval hospital and has a large outdoor space for exhibitions and events. Hauser and Wirth Menorca features contemporary art exhibitions by both established and emerging artists, as well as public programs, talks, and events. In addition to Hauser and Wirth, there are several other important galleries in Mahon that have opened in recent years, including Galleries like "Cayon Gallery," "Kroma," or "Argos" in Menorca.

Addaya Centre d'Art Contemporani: Located in Alaior, this contemporary art gallery features works by both local and international artists.
Sa Nostra Sala: Located in Mahon, this art space features rotating exhibitions of contemporary art and cultural events.
Ca'n Oliver Art Gallery: Located in Ciutadella, this gallery features a mix of contemporary and traditional art by emerging and established artists.
Es Polvorí Art Centre: Located in Mahon, this cultural center hosts contemporary art exhibitions, workshops, and events.

ABOUT LOLA DEL FRESNO

Lola del Fresno was born in Madrid. She studied in the University of Fine Arts Universidad Complutense. She exhibited in several galleries in Spain and was part of Art Fairs like Estampa in Madrid, Korea and Art LA in Los Angeles. She moved to New York in 1997 and since then her work has been recognized internationally, showing in galleries in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Milan and New York.

Lola del Fresno is a visual artist whose projects involve large-scale mixed media installations with an active public component that involves the viewer as part of the project in the space. Her work is composed of mixed media pieces that include drawings, photography, paintings, and sculptures.

She has exhibited her work locally and internationally. Her large scale installations and paintings are housed in well-known private collections and museums.

Lola del Fresno has received several awards in Spain, including the first prize Gremios de Pintura, the Prize Adara in Avila, Spain and the Prize Tentaciones - Estampa Art Fair with an installation entitled “Walking.
